Julian Wilcox

Julian Wilcox (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Te Arawa) first hit the New Zealand airwaves in 2004 with Māori Television, and was one of the most prominent faces and voices of the channel for its first decade. 

Throughout his career he has presented and produced a range of shows, including the highly-praised Māori TV ANZAC Day coverage and award-winning current affairs show Native Affairs. He later worked as Māori TV’s general manager of news and current affairs, where he led a young vibrant team and proved his fantastic leadership skills.

Julian left Māori TV in 2016, after he was appointed as chief operating officer of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Julian is committed to Māori development and achieving whānau rangatiratanga. 

Across his busy lifestyle, Julian has also lectured Te Reo, tikanga, whaikōrero media, and the mighty Hurricanes.
